The Cliffs of Moher ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

On our way from Killarney to Galway we made a stop at the Cliffs of Moher. Our trusted GPS took us on a side road that led to a dead end and we noticed that others had been misdirected as well. Once back on track, we continue over a hill and lo and behold, there is a huge visitor center and attraction entrance. We pull into the parking lot entrance, full of cars and buses, and are asked if we have reservations - ugh. Luckily for us, they have openings that day and we get in (lesson learned about checking ahead).

The Cliffs of Moher, named after a ruined promontory fort โ€™Motharโ€™ (which was demolished in the early 1800s), are located in the southwestern edge of the Burren region in County Clare, Ireland. They are about 9 miles long and reach a maximum height of 702 ft. It seems like there is a different and stunning view from every angle of the cliffs so it really was hard to pick the best pictures and we also continued hiking farther than we expected as we were always looking for that different cove or camera angle.

The weather that day was typical Ireland weather - a wee bit of sun popping out every once in awhile, a brisk wind and refreshing light showers. Although the crowds were somewhat heavy and the winds were brisk, we thoroughly enjoyed the Cliffs of Moher experience.
