Driving in Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

Driving in Ireland messes with my brain in so many ways.
In Ireland - Drive on the left - this messes with my brain in so many waysโ€ฆ

I knew the driving in Europe would be challenging but I guess I didnโ€™t fully set myself up for success. Instead of making it easy, we opted for a manual car (I havenโ€™t driven a manual car for years), wheel on the right and stick shift on the left. You all know Iโ€™m right handed so all of this messes with my brain in a big way. On top of that Iโ€™ve got to consistently remember to look to right for on-coming traffic and turn into the left lane closest to me which my brain has for years taught me in where on-coming traffic should be coming from.

Iโ€™m looking forward to the uphill starts and stalls in the middle of the busy roundabout. Hope we make it out alive.

Our car for Ireland is a Peugeot 208, which is a teeny little car which should be a lot easier to navigate the narrow streets, tight turns and park.

Watch for more โ€drivingโ€ posts where we share some of our driving adventures, crazy road signs and road conditions. Letโ€™s all hope none of them involve a tow truck or an ambulance.

P.S. Cathy has been a great navigator.
